Creating a segment
Section titled “Creating a segment”-
Go to Audiences in the sidebar.

Click New Segment.

Enter a name for the segment (e.g. “US iOS Users” or “Instagram Campaign”).

Add one or more filter rules (see Filter Rules for details).

Click Create.
The segment is active immediately and can be assigned to banners, messages, and other features.
Editing a segment
Section titled “Editing a segment”Click on any segment in the list to edit its name, description, or filter rules. Changes take effect immediately. Any banners or messages using this segment will start using the updated rules on the next evaluation.
Deleting a segment
Section titled “Deleting a segment”Click Delete to remove a segment. If the segment is assigned to any banners or messages, those features will stop filtering by audience and apply to all users instead.
Segment evaluation
Section titled “Segment evaluation”Segments are evaluated in real time when a feature needs to check if a user matches. Tolinku queries your analytics data from the last 30 days to determine membership. This means:
- A user who visited your links 31 days ago but not since will not appear in the segment.
- New users appear in segments as soon as they generate their first event (click, install, etc.).
- Segment membership is dynamic. Users can enter or leave a segment as their behavior changes.
