Route Expiration

Routes can be set to expire after a certain date or after a set number of clicks. This is useful for time-limited promotions, one-time-use links, or campaigns with a fixed budget.

In the route form, expand the Expiration section to configure:

Set a date and time after which the route stops working. Any visitor who clicks the link after this time will be redirected to the expired redirect URL (or a default expired page).

Set a total click limit. After the route reaches this number of clicks, it expires automatically. This is useful for limited-quantity offers or one-time-use links.

When a route expires, visitors are redirected to this URL. If you leave it empty, Tolinku shows a default “This link has expired” page.

Typical redirect targets:

  • Your homepage or a “sorry, this offer has ended” page
  • A newer version of the campaign
  • A general download page for your app

When a user clicks an expired route:

  1. Tolinku checks the expiry date and click count
  2. If either limit is exceeded, the user is redirected to the expired redirect URL
  3. The click is still recorded in analytics (tagged as expired)
  4. Universal Links and App Links are not affected by expiration. If the user has the app installed, the app still opens. Expiration only applies to the web redirect flow.
