In-App Messages

In-app messages are pop-ups, banners, or modals that appear inside your mobile app. Use them to announce features, run promotions, collect feedback, or guide users through onboarding.

Unlike smart banners (which appear on your website), in-app messages appear inside the native app experience. They require the Tolinku SDK to be integrated in your app.

How it works

1. You create a message in the Tolinku dashboard with a design and trigger rules.
2. The Tolinku SDK in your app checks for active messages on launch (or on a custom trigger).
3. When conditions are met (audience match, trigger event, schedule), the SDK displays the message.
4. User interactions (view, tap, dismiss) are tracked as analytics events.

Creating a message

1. Go to Messages in the sidebar.
2. Click New Message.
3. Design the message content (title, body, image, buttons).
4. Configure trigger rules and targeting.
5. Click Create.

The message becomes available to the SDK immediately. Users who match the targeting criteria will see it the next time the SDK checks for messages.

Note

In-app messages require the Tolinku SDK to be installed in your app. Without the SDK, messages have no way to display. See the SDK documentation for setup instructions.
